National College Health Assessment

The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) provides important data about college students’ health habits, behaviors, and perceptions.  The survey data covers:

  • Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use
  • Sexual health
  • Weight, nutrition, and exercise
  • Mental health
  • Personal safety and violence

Latest survey results are for Spring 2019. Examples of findings include:

  • Anxiety, sleep, stress, and depression were the top factors affecting academic performance.
  • 28.3 percent of males and 22.5 percent of females reported never using alcohol.
  • 58 percent of males and 57.7 percent of females reported never using marijuana.
  • 27 percent of males and 21 percent of females were overweight.
