Coaching Endorsement
TO ADD THE COACHING ENDORSEMENT TO A LICENSE OTHER THAN K-12 HEALTH/PE
THOSE LICENSING IN K-12 HEALTH/PE SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR ADVISOR FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE COACHING ENDORSEMENT.
- Complete the 25 credit hour program of study offered by the UCA Department of Exercise ad Sports Science. More information available here.
- Earn a passing score on Praxis 5095: Physical Education: Content and Design. More information available here.
Career Development (formerly Career Orientation) Endorsement
For those holding a standard license, choose ONE of these options:
- Complete ASTL 5311: Methods of Teaching Career Development (on-line)
(Offered periodically at UCA. Contact jeffw@uca.edu for more information.) - If assigned to teach the course, enroll in the Arkansas Department of Career Education’s mentorship program. Contact information is available here.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement
- Complete the 12 credit hour program of study offered by the UCA Department of World Languages. More information available here.
- Earn a passing score on Praxis 5362: English to Speakers of Other Languages. More information available here.
Driver Education
Complete the following 6 credit hours plus have passing score on one of the current Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching exams.
- HLTH 4361: Driver Education
- HLTH 4362: Advanced Driver Education
Courses were listed with H ED prefixes prior to fall 2020.
More information about these courses is available here. In addition to these six (6) credit hours, candidates must also have:
- a passing score on one of the current Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) exams
- a course or certificate in first aid
Dyslexia Endorsement [Graduate Level]
- Complete the 15 credit hour dyslexia graduate certificate program of study or the M.S.E. in Reading.
- Submit passing scores on one of the current Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching exams.
