LewerMark Insurance’s “Make Your Mark” Scholarship

Our insurance provider, LewerMark Student Insurance, offers a yearly “Make Your Mark” scholarship for international students. This is a highly competitive scholarship which is offered to international students from every university which uses LewerMark as their insurance provider. Students applying for this award will be competing with international students from all over the United States. Please see below for the full list of eligibility requirements as well as the complete application process:

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students must be currently enrolled full-time at UCA and classified as an international student.
  • Students must be in active immigration status with an F, J, M, or Q visa.
  • Undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, graduate, and IEP students are all eligible.
  • Students must have LewerMark insurance.

Application Process:
To apply for the “Make Your Mark” scholarship:

  • Complete and submit the Scholarship Entry Form found on the LewerMark website. This application can only be submitted once.
  • Type a 750 to 1,000-word essay that answer the question, “How will an international education help me make a difference in the world?
  • Request a letter of recommendation from an advisor or other UCA employee. You will be prompted to provide an email address for this person during your application, who will be contacted to verify your application once it has been submitted. This person does not have to work in the Office of International Engagement.
  • The deadline for submission of all application materials is 5:00 pm on April 15, 2019.
  • Individual applications and essays are judged on the following scale:
    • Vision (40%)
    • Creativity (30%)
    • Clarity (20%)
    • Advisor’s reason for nominating student (10%)

Scholarship payment will be made in one lump sum payment to the school to apply towards the student’s account. Scholarship awards are:
1st place –$1,500
2nd place-$1,250
3rd place-$1,000
4th place-$750
