English Proficiency Standards

The following are general requirements for most programs at UCA. Some academic programs may require different levels of English proficiency. 
IMPORTANT: The Duolingo English Test is NOT accepted as proof of English proficiency.

 

Undergraduate Admission English Proficiency Requirements

*Test scores must be less than 2 years old at the time of application.

** Test scores must be less than 5 years old.

Test scores or Certificates of English proficiency from a previous institution cannot be accepted.

Students who have already taken either the ACT or SAT will need to have the appropriate testing agency send the official scores to UCA. We will only accept official scores sent to us from the testing agency. UCA school code for the ACT is 0118; UCA school code for the SAT is 6012.

It may take 3-4 weeks before UCA receives these scores, so please send your results to us as soon as possible.

Graduate Admission English Proficiency Requirements

Applicants from these exempt countries whose first language is English and who graduated from a university where English was the language of instruction are not required to submit proof of English proficiency.
