Conductor: Outreach & Engagement Manager

Summary: The Outreach and Engagement Manager will serve as a liaison, relationship builder, and catalyst for Conductor events and programs across the 11-county service area and beyond. The role will include program development and partnership-building, sourcing grant programs and identifying synergistic partnership opportunities, lowering barriers to access and increasing engagement from underserved entrepreneurial communities, and advocating for entrepreneurial policy initiatives in order to further the Conductor’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs, innovators, and makers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with chambers of commerce, economic developers, and other entrepreneurial communities across the Conductor’s 11-county service area to further the work of the Conductor and the mission of empowering and inspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and makers

  • Specifically, conduct outreach and build relationships in underserved communities, including rural and minority communities, and specifically manage the Conductor’s Minority Enterprise Development activities

  • Assist in hosting and facilitating Conductor events

  • Build relationships with other Entrepreneurial Support Organizations (ESOs) across the state for collaboration opportunities

  • Develop relationships and partnerships with strategic organizations on a regional and national level

  • Source grant and funding opportunities for specific programs and initiatives

  • Grant writing and proposal development for new initiatives/programs, in partnership with the operations team

  • Manage entrepreneurial policy initiatives of the Conductor, including the Coalition to Advance Arkansas Entrepreneurship

  • Manage and assist in Global Entrepreneurship Week Initiatives

  • Other responsibilities as needed or assigned

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in community and/or economic development

  • Proficiency in grant sourcing, proposal development, & grant writing

  • Experience in policy advocacy

Meet the Firms • Wed, Sep 15

Meet the Firms is the best night of the year for accounting majors. Around 20 firms are here just to meet UCA accounting majors and tell you about internships and jobs. It is a great opportunity to compare different types and sizes of employers. Don’t miss this opportunity. It is only held once per year in September. Attend your junior, senior, and even grad school year to develop a professional network and discover the kinds of places you may want a job in the future.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

Any accounting major who is currently in or has finished a 3000-level accounting course.

Professional dress is required.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER is 4pm on Wed, Sep 8.

Must submit a one-page resume and $10 (cash only) to COB 204.

All profits above the event costs will be donated to Ronald McDonald House.

Beta Alpha Psi members (already initiated) may attend at no cost, but must still submit a resume.

Students who do not submit a resume by the deadline will not be permitted to attend.

More details about the event will be emailed to students who sign up. If you have questions, stop by COB 204.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an information technology related field
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0+

Advice from Alumni: Nato Silue

With the start of fall semester, our College of Business (COB) alumni are sending their best advice. Recent alumna Tchetahan Natogoma (Nato) Silue, COB class of 2020, believes that the supportive environment fostered by the faculty and advisors is something students should embrace.

“Don’t be scared to approach your professors. They are there for you and want you to succeed,” said Silue. “Everyone was supportive which boosted my learning experience.”

Insurance Agency (Industry Accounting) – Internship and Beyond

Insurance Agency (industry accounting) | Summer 2021 and beyond Internship (Little Rock)

An insurance agency is looking for a sharp accounting major (preferably with some accounting experience) to bring their accounting records together into one system. Your job would including training on their software (provided by the software vendor), developing processes to collect and input data (e.g., from payroll company and source documents), and training the agency’s employees to follow your processes after your internship is over. Possibility of full-time job offer after graduation.
