Outdoor Recreation Gear Use Policy

  • Gear is available to use for current students, faculty, and staff at no charge.
  • Gear cannot be reserved.
  • Gear may be checked out for 7 days at a time. You cannot check out the same items on the same day you return them.
  • Return gear on time or before the deadline date and in good condition.
  • Gear must be returned in usable condition or $9 service fee will be charged.
  • Failure to return gear by the deadline will result in a $3 late fee per day overdue.
  • Gear that is returned broken will result in charges for any damages.
  • Gear that is lost or stolen will result in charges up to the full replacement cost.
  • If your bike is found unlocked, you will be suspended from the Gear Locker for 90 days.
  • Any incurred charges will result in a suspension of your Thomas C. Courtway Student Recreation Center account until all balances are settled.
  • Excessive charges may result in a hold on your student account holding registration, graduation, and transcripts.

Personal Bike Repair Policy

  • Campus Outdoors will continue to provide maintenance and repair labor to UCA Community personal bikes at no charge.
  • Patrons seeking assistance repairing their personal bikes must contact a bike mechanic through the “Personal Bike Repair” topic in the Campus Outdoors GroupMe and agree on a time to meet with them.
  • Patrons are responsible for discussing any issues that they wish to address with the mechanic beforehand.
  • Patrons are responsible for obtaining the correct replacement parts and bringing them to this meeting.
  • If the bike is not repaired by the end of the session, the patron must leave with their bike to return at a later date.
  • Patrons are no longer allowed to leave their personal bikes in the Gear Locker.
