ATOM Scholars will benefit from the following program support at no cost to the scholars.
Scholarships
- ATOM Scholars scholarship – up to $10,000 annually for up to four years
- Additional scholarships and grants:
Community
- Belong to a cohort of at least 5 academically talented, Pell grant eligible UCA chemistry majors
- Attend STEM Student Orientation and Advanced Registration (SOAR)
- Participate in Bear Student Leadership (BLE)
- Live in the STEM Residential College
- Participate in the UCA American Chemical Society (ACS) student chapter and be a member of the National American Chemical Society
Academic Support
- Supplemental Instruction (recitation facilitated by a peer who recently completed the course with an A or B) in all foundational/core chemistry courses: College Chemistry I & II and Organic Chemistry I & II
- Academic advising by a dedicated ATOM Scholars advisor
Professional Development
- Mentorship Circle – monthly mentorship and professional development activities with other chemistry majors
- CliftonStrengths – personal talent assessment
- Undergraduate research opportunities with chemistry faculty
- Industry site visits and mentorship opportunities
- Opportunity to participate in the UCA STEMteach program
