Summer Orientation and Academic Registration (SOAR)

What is SOAR?

SOAR (Summer Orientation & Academic Registration) is an overnight orientation experience that is designed to introduce you to the university and ease your transition into college life. You’ll meet Student Orientation Staff (SOS) members, hear from faculty and staff about what to expect in your first year, and have a chance to meet other incoming freshmen. On the second day of SOAR, you’ll meet with an Academic Advisor to register for classes and get a custom campus tour of where your classes will be in the fall. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour different campus facilities like the HPER Center, Library, and Student Health Clinic.

Yes! We encourage them to do so. Our parent program will provide them the opportunity to discover UCA. Parents will be involved in informative discussions on student services, academics, fees and expenses. Small groups of administrators and students will meet informally with parents to answer their questions and discuss their concerns.
