Carrie Martens is currently serving her sixth year as undergraduate/post-baccalaureate advisor for the Department of Music. Ms. Martens earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Arkansas Tech University before teaching K-12 instrumental, vocal, and general music in Arkansas. Ms. Martens served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Central Arkansas while earning her Master of Music in Music Education. She earned the UCA Department of Music’s distinction of “Outstanding Graduate Student” for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years.
Prior to assuming music major advising responsibilities, Ms. Martens was a full-time Visiting Lecturer of Music Education at UCA, and from 2014-2017 she was the assistant director of Voices of Central Arkansas, UCA’s award-wining auditioned choral program for 3rd-12th grade singers.
In addition to her advising responsibilities at UCA, Ms. Martens also teaches MUS 2211 Integration of Music Technology into Teaching and Learning. She is a Level 2 Certified Google Educator. Ms. Martens has a passion for helping teachers and students enhance instruction and content with the use of technology.
