10 Fitness and the HPER continue to team up for fall

The HPER Fitness Center will continue to work with 10 Fitness during the fall semester, from August 21st-November 10th.  Please click here for more information on how to enroll starting August 21st.

HPER expansion update

As a reminder, due to phase II construction, the HPER is currently closed.  The expected opening date is now scheduled for November 11, 2014.  During the summer the HPER Center will be working with 10 Fitness to help keep you in shape while we are closed.  Click here for more information on how to get started at 10 Fitness.  Please check back for further updates on the expansion process.  


Due to Phase II construction, the HPER Center’s last day of operation will be Wednesday, April 30th and will not reopen until approximately October 15, 2014, the expected completion date for phase II construction.

Closing and emptying the HPER is a large undertaking.  ‘Everything’ must be out of the HPER prior to our May 1st closing.

Beginning Monday, April 28th movers will be in the HPER to dismantle and relocate all of our cardiovascular equipment (1st floor) and weight equipment (2nd floor).  For this reason the 1st floor cardio room and 2nd floor weight room will be closed beginning Monday, April 28th.  Also, the equipment will be moved through our east side front entrance.

Because of this, HPER hours for Monday, April 28th through Wednesday, April 30th will be:

Monday, April 28th – 4pm to 11pm

Tuesday, April 29th – 4pm to 11pm

Wednesday, April 30th – 4pm to 11pm

Thursday, May 1st – HPER CLOSED

*ONLY the track and basketball courts will be available for recreational use on these days.

Basketball court closures

Attention, UCA basketball lovers!  Starting today (January 22nd) until February 20th, the basketball courts will close at 5:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday due to 5on5 intramural basketball.

Spring 2014 group exercise schedule finalized

The new Spring 2014 group exercise schedule has been posted!  Much thanks to Kim Brim who helped us out in our last minute search for another instructor.  She will be teaching Cardio Kickboxing classes.  Please welcome her to UCA this coming Monday, at her first class here! Aqua aerobics begins Monday, January 13th

Aqua Aerobics starts Monday, January 13th at 5pm. No sign-up needed. Aqua Aerobics will be offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5-6pm.

Fitness Assessment sign-ups begin

Fitness assessments will begin Monday, January 13th but sign-ups start today!!!  If you have your New Year’s resolutions set, this a free program that will help you set more specific goals, and get you started on the right foot!  Remember!  Your goals need direction, and it’s hard to find direction when you don’t even know where you are starting!  Visit the HPER Center cardio room to get started.  For more information click here:

Weight Room is open!

The HPER Center weight room and upstairs is now re-opened!  Thank you for your patience with the closure during the winter break.

HPER to extend Saturday hours

The HPER Center will be extending Saturday hours starting Spring 2014.  Instead of being open from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, the HPER will open up earlier at 9 a.m. and close later at 6 p.m.  We hope these hours will better serve our campus community.
