UCA Password Expiration

In accordance with the UCA Network Password Policy all students, faculty, and staff are required to change their network passwords every 90 days. You do not have to wait for your password to expire to change it and doing so will keep your password current for the next 90 days.

To change your password, you can do any one of the following:

  • You can change your password any time you like by using Password Self-Service at password.uca.edu. You can access this site from any device with an Internet connection (computer, phone, tablet, etc.). With this tool, you can also reset a forgotten password, unlock your account, or reset your password after it has expired.  The first time you access this site, you will be asked three security questions.  You can enter any information you like as the answers; however, please be sure you remember the answers.
  • When you are logged into any Windows computer on campus, click Control + Alt + Delete and then click “Change a password“.
  • In the unlikely event that you are unable to change your password via either of the above options, you will need to contact the IT Help Desk by calling 501-450-3107 or stopping by Math and Computer Science Room 103. For security purposes, you will be asked to verify your identity, so please have your BearCard, date of birth, and the last four digits of your SSN ready.

However, if your password has already expired:

  • when attempting to log into a Windows computer on campus, you will be asked to change your password.
  • when attempting to log into myUCA, you will receive an error and be directed to password.uca.edu to change your password.
  • when attempting to log into Blackboard via the direct login page (bblearn.uca.edu) and not through myUCA, you will receive an error.  If this happens, please visit password.uca.edu and change your password.

Please be aware that new passwords:

  • are case sensitive.
  • MUST be at least 8 characters long.
  • MUST be different than your last six passwords.
  • MUST NOT contain your first name, last name, or your UCA username.
  • MUST have at least three types of the following characters:
    • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
    • Lowercase letters (a-z)
    • Numbers (0-9)
    • Special characters (!  #  $  %  ^  &  etc.)
