Incident Reporting: In case of an incident or near miss in the laboratory, please complete the the following form. Reports are automatically sent to the Chemical Hygiene Officer and then reviewed by the departmental safety committee.
Waste: All generated waste containers are to be labeled using the following Hazardous Waste Identification label. To request the pick-up of chemical waste, sharps containers, or broken glass, please complete the Waste form by clicking the link below. The Chemical Hygiene Officer will coordinate a pick-up time and date.
First Aid Kits: All research and teaching labs are equipped with first aid kits and contain contents as specified by the ANSI z308.1-2021 Class A standard. First aid kits are checked and refilled monthly by the Chemical Hygiene Officer.
Spill Kits: Spill kits are located in every research and teaching lab. For additional supplies, contact the Chemical Hygiene Officer.
Safety Showers and Eye Washes: Safety showers are checked monthly and eye washes weekly by the Chemical Hygiene Officer. Report any issues or maintenance immediately to the Chemical Hygiene Officer.
