Film screening of La Voyage dans la Lune (1902 silent film), directed by George Méliès, with original music composed by Blake Tyson and performed live by the UCA Percussion Ensemble, with a pre-screening discussion of French silent films by Dr. Adele Okoli (School of Language and Literature) and post-screening presentation about eclipses in history by Dr. Azida Walker (Department of Physics and Astronomy). This short adventure film, which follows a group of astronomers who travel to the moon, is widely regarded as the earliest example of a science fiction film and as one of the most influential films in cinema history.
