4-8-14 – BIT Club Meeting

The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its last meeting of the school year on Tuesday, April 8th. The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. We will have a Mystery Guest Speaker deliver a few remarks and conduct Officer Elections for next year. In addition, we will discuss our upcoming field trip to the Dillard’s Data Center and Headquarters in Little Rock on Tuesday, April 15th. Refreshments will be served (PIZZA!) and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

3-11-14 – Identity Theft Speaker – Cosponsored by BIT & PBL

The UCA Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having their third meeting of the semester on Tuesday, March 11th. The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. Phi Beta Lambda is co-hosting the event. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Stephen Svetz from the Attorney General’s Office as our featured speaker. Mr. Svetz will be speaking on Identity Theft and will offer valuable insights from his experience working for the state of Arkansas. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

2-18-14 BIT Club Meting

The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its second meeting on Tuesday, February 18th.  The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus.  Mr. Steve Arnold, technical training instructor for Truck Centers of Arkansas, will be the featured speaker.  In his current position since 1996, his primary duties are to keep the technicians trained and up to date on the latest technology involving Freightliner and Western Star trucks.   In addition, he is retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard where he served as the State Command Chief for his last three years.  Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

BIT Club Meeting 1-28-14

The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its Spring Welcome Meeting and Kick-Off on Tuesday, January 28th.  The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus.  Mr. Michael Hussman, Purchasing Manager for RockTenn, will be the featured speaker.  RockTenn is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of corrugated and consumer packaging, with over $9 billion in revenues and ranks #291 on the 2013 Fortune 500 list.  The company has 26,000 employees and operates locations in the US, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and China. Michael is a recent graduate of our College of Business and we are delighted to welcome him back to campus.  Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

11-21-13 ~ BIT Club Meeting

The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its final meeting of the fall on Thursday, November 21st.  The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus.  Mr. Luke Coleman, Technical Architect at ABC Financial Services, will be the featured speaker.  Luke also co-founded a technology investment group called Southern Coding which supports startups through advice, training, and creating internally incubated products.   In 2012, he got involved in Startup Arkansas and became a champion for the state.  Refreshments will be served (PIZZA!) and door prizes will be awarded.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

Ubuntu-Blox Inventor to Speak at UCA

The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its Fall Welcome Meeting and Kick-Off on Thursday, September 19th.  The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.),is open to all majors on campus.  Mr. Adam Pettit, District Sales Manager for the Delta District (AR, LA, MS, AL, Memphis) of SHI, will be the featured speaker.  SHI is a $4 billion+ global provider of information technology products and services.  Adam is a recent MIS graduate of our College of Business and we are delighted to welcome him back to campus.  Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

Kaleigh Davis to speak at the International Trade Association Meeting

The International Trade Association will host Kaleigh Davis at 3 pm (today) Monday the 16th in COB 100.

Kaleigh Davis, is an alumni of UCA’s College of Business and UCA’s Honors College. While attending UCA, she served as president of the International Trade Association, an ambassador for International Programs, a group leader for StuMo as well as additional campus organizations. Ms. Davis graduated from the School of Law at the U of A, Fayetteville. Currently, she is a prosecutor for Pulaski County. Kaliegh will discuss her international experiences including trips to India, Central and South America and Tanzania.
