Student Research Funds

Undergraduate and graduate students can apply for funding (up to $1,000) to support their research projects.  Funding is supported by the Biology Department, the COSE, and the Graduate School.

 

Students, be sure to work with your research advisor to ensure the quality and completeness of your proposal.

 

(1) If the project requires $500 or less (the current maximum funding amount from the graduate school is $500 for both travel and research), please complete the Docusign form at the following link: http://uca.edu/go/urcstudentfund In addition to the faculty mentor’s information, please enter Dr. Arijit Mukherjee (amukherjee@uca.edu) in the spot for Department Chair, and Dr. Kari Naylor (use the following email: cosedocusign@uca.edu) in the College Dean spot.
In the very brief sections of the form devoted to project details, please include clear objectives/hypotheses and sufficient details related to the methods to allow project evaluation for the purpose of signing/indicating support at the department and college level. More information or clarification may be requested by the chair, associate chair, or student research panel in cases where the submitted information is insufficient for evaluation.

(2) If the request is for conference travel and requires more than $500, please follow the instructions in (1), AND, please also submit document indicating how much is being requested beyond the $500 from the graduate school and a brief budget justification (via email to me: apuri@uca.edu).

(3) If the request is for carrying out research and requires more than $500, please follow the instructions in (1), AND, please also submit a proposal (via email to me: apuri@uca.edu) that adheres to the department’s traditional guidelines for research proposals, outlined below:
