Christopher Parker

Christopher is a native of North Little Rock, AR. He attended Memphis State University, renamed later as University of Memphis, for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He lived and worked in Memphis from 1991-2011, with stints in New York City to work and study between 1994-2000. He is part of a lineage of pianists from Arkansas and Memphis. His teachers and mentors in this lineage include Lee Tomboulian, Charles Thomas, Art Porter Sr., Bob Steele, Michael Bates, Gene Rush, James Williams, and Donald Brown. In 2011, Christopher moved back to North Little Rock to teach for Little Rock School District. He taught Orchestra, Choir, Orff music, Jazz Band, and Piano classes at Booker Arts Magnet Elementary School and Horace Mann Arts Magnet Middle School. He currently resides in North Little Rock teaching privately, working on his No Tears Project, and performing and recording locally and nationally.
