Summer 2024 Music Education Professional Development

SUMMER 2024 MUSIC EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Workshop Title

Focus on the FUN:  Finding the Joy in Music Class

Workshop Description

This Professional Development workshop for music educators is based on the FAME (Feierabend Association of Music Education) curricula. This course is appropriate for music educators with any level of FAME experience. The content will pertain to elementary and middle school ages.

The Joy of Musicing class is designed to give teachers the time to learn the games, dances, and activities that are associated with the various FAME curricula. Many of these activities can also be used as future literacy activities, but some are just for infusing joy into the music room – “doing music”.  In addition, alternate (non-FAME specific) resources will be used to illustrate how teachers can have the autonomy to make First Steps and Conversational solfege their own.
