Microsoft Office (for personal use)

Currently employed faculty and staff are eligible to download Microsoft Office for free for personal use. For more details, go to the Office 365 page.

NOTE: Do not download/install Office 365 on UCA-owned computers. All university-owned computers are equipped with Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (Windows only), and more. If your university-issued computer does not have Office installed, or if your version of Office is not working correctly, contact the IT Help Desk.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Adobe Reader is a PDF viewer that can open and interact with all PDF documents. Easily view, print, and collaborate on PDF files.

Respondus 4.0 (FACULTY ONLY)

Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, and uploaded to Blackboard. For more information, visit the Respondus 4.0 page.

Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking exams in Blackboard. It prevents students from printing, copying text, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment. If a Blackboard exam requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, students will not be able to access the exam with a standard web browser. Students should only use Respondus LockDown Browser for assessments in Blackboard; it is not meant to be used with any other areas of Blackboard. Security Software

UCA currently is implementing Microsoft Endpoint Protection on university-owned computers. For antivirus options for personal use, go to the Knowledgebase article Recommended antivirus applications. NOTE: The applications listed are not recommendations by IT, and UCA IT is not affiliated with any of them. They are listed only for reference. The minimum requirements for these program will vary, and you install these programs at your own risk
