The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its Spring Welcome Meeting and Kick-Off on Tuesday, January 27th. The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. Nathan Riley, IT Developer/Engineer at HP, will be the featured speaker. Currently, Nathan works as a QA/MTP Technical Lead for HP’s Payroll Transformation Program. He has experience in marketing as a Data Processing Manager which led a cutting-edge marketing scheme that generated National award-winning recognition. He’s had the opportunity to work as a Business Analyst in relation to business performance and the provision of competitive commercial solutions as well as Business Development opportunities. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from UCA where he studied MIS with a concentration in Business Analysis, and certifications including Project Management and Agile Development. Nathan is a former BIT Club Officer and we are delighted to welcome him back to campus. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. Dr. Ellis joins us after a diverse business career, degrees in Finance and MIS, and the recent completion of the Ph.D. program at the University of Kansas. Dean Stansel is an Associate Professor of Economics at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has testified before Congress and several state legislatures and is a regular guest on radio and television.

Mr. Tyler Gilliom, a recent UCA graduate who majored in MIS with an emphasis in Business Analysis, will be the featured speaker. He is a Project Support Analyst for a Health Information System company (Cognosante) based out of McLean, Virginia and is currently working on a Medicaid MIS project in Little Rock. Economics and business faculty from Arkansas share their research and teaching methods. The conference includes paper sessions, panel discussions, and teaching workshops.
