Misty Kew, BA in Art: Art Education Emphasis. Misty presented “An Art Teacher’s First Year in STEM – STEM to STEAM,” November 1, at the 2018 Arkansas Art Educators Conference in Little Rock. Misty is currently the art teacher at Forest Heights STEM Academy in Little Rock.

Britynn Davis, 2011 BFA Graphic Design Emphasis, and Rachel Trusty, 2006 BA Art Education Emphasis, were selected for the online registry of the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (ACNMWA) by Courtney Taylor, Curator of the Louisiana State Museum of Art. Patricia McCauley, 2004 BA in Art: Art Education Emphasis. At the November 2018 Arkansas Art Educators Conference, Patricia was awarded Outstanding Elementary Art Teacher of the Year. For the last nine years, Patricia has been teaching art in the Maumelle School District, the past five at Pine Forest Elementary.

Lisa Smith, 2001 BA in Art: Art Education Emphasis. The Arkansas Art Educators awarded Lisa the Outstanding Mid-Level Art Teacher of the Year Award at the 2018 AAE Conference in Little Rock. Lisa teaches at Beebe Junior High School and has taught in Beebe the last ten years.

Alumni Steven Overturf 2014 BA in Art and Hunter Oden 2012 BFA in Art: Graphic Design emphasis have both had their design work accepted into the most recent edition of the LogoLounge book series #11. LogoLounge is a widely referenced industry standard for Graphic Designers with a competitive acceptance rate of only 7% in this most recent edition. Congratulations to these two UCA alumni!

Alumni Danielle Ambry, 2011 BFA emphasis in Graphic Design, is finding success after working for Phoenix Creative in St. Louis. Danielle has recently opened her own graphic design company, The Creative Base, and has just begun her second business, Danielle Ambry wedding photography.

Christine Guenard
Christine Guenard – a recent alumn with her BA in Art Education – is a new member at the Arkansas Regional Information Hub, a studio and meeting space for makers in a wide array of technical and artistic mediums. She was recently granted a solo show at the AR Hub scheduled to open during an upcoming “Second Friday Art Walk.”
As part of her exhibition she demonstrated her processes in collagraph printmaking. She also returned to UCA this February to demonstrate her techniques in the printmaking studio.
