Admission Guidelines
The Department of Art and Design does not require a portfolio review for incoming freshmen. Students declaring art as their major should begin taking art courses as listed on the Program Completion Plans.
All students seeking the BFA in Studio Art and the BA in Art with Fine Art or Art Education emphases must participate in the Sophomore Major Advancement Interview (SMAI) which is conducted in the fall of each year. Students planning to participate in the SMAI should enroll in Art 2140 Portfolio I. See Program Completion Plans for details.
For more information about attending UCA, see the Future Students section of the UCA website.
