UCA Fee Waiver Information

Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship Information

Students can qualify for Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship based on the following:

  1. Students residing in University housing may qualify for the out-of-state tuition scholarship by admission with the following minimum GPA:
    1. Entering freshmen must have a minimum 2.5 high school GPA (on a 4.00 scale)
    2. Undergraduate transfer students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) on prior undergraduate coursework
    3. Graduate students must have a minimum 2.7 undergraduate GPA (on a 4.00 scale), a 3.0 undergraduate GPA in the last 60 credit hours, or a 3.0 graduate GPA on any coursework taken at another institution
      ***Students not meeting the above may qualify based upon a successful admissions appeal or admission pursuant to other University requirements.
  2. Full-time students receiving a full tuition scholarship provided by unrestricted funds of the University (State Statute 6-82-103)
  3. UCA graduates who are dues paying members of the UCA Alumni Association.
  4. Children or grandchildren (age 26 or under) of UCA graduates who are dues paying members of the UCA Alumni Association.
  5. Students who are members or dependents of members of the armed forces stationed in the State of Arkansas pursuant to military orders as stated in State Statute 6-60-205.
  6. Students who are veterans or dependents of veterans where: 1) the veteran is using VA education benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill (Chapter 30) or the veteran or dependent is using benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33); and 2) the veteran resides in the state in which the institution is located while the student is attending (pursuant to military orders as stated in the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 (HR 3230)).
  7. Undergraduate students whose permanent address is in one of the states contiguous to the State of Arkansas (Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana).
  8. Graduate students whose permanent address is in one of the states contiguous to the State of Arkansas (Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana).
  9. Graduate students who have a full-time graduate assistantship.
  10. Graduate students enrolled in a clinical residency program that requires the student to be employed and reside in-state during program enrollment.
  11. Courses offered through the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement.
  12. Courses offered online (not charged out-of-state tuition).
  13. Courses offered during the summer (not charged out-of-state tuition).
  • Undocumented students pay out-of-state tuition unless they live in university housing.
  • There may be exceptions/modifications for international students pursuant to a contract with another entity.

 

Faculty/Staff Fee Waiver Information

Eligibility:

  • Employee – graduate and undergraduate classes
  • Spouse – graduate and undergraduate classes
  • Dependent – undergraduate classes only

Waiver amount:

  • 80% of tuition and the following fees
    • Facilities Fee
    • Student Co-op Education Fee
    • Student Center Fee
    • HPER Fee
    • Athletic Fee
    • Technology Fee
    • Fine/Performing Arts Fee
  • 100% Access and Security Fee for employees only – Starting Fall 2024

Online Students:

  • The portion of the online course fee and the fully online graduate program registration related to the above fees will be discounted at 80%. The fully online graduate program rate includes the online technology fee and library fee that are not covered by the Faculty/Staff Fee Waiver.

Faculty/Staff Fee Waiver Application Process:

Step 1  – Filing – You must fill out the waiver forms (available in the Human Resource office or on their website) and turn them in to Human Resources by the deadline.

Step 2 – Eligibility – Once Human Resources determines you are eligible for the waiver, it will be put in the system.

Step 3 – Authorization – Once Financial Aid reviews (and adjusts if necessary) your financial aid package with the waiver included, it will be authorized in the system.

Step 4 – Posting – When the waiver is authorized, it will be posted to your student account at the next daily posting cycle.

Over 60 Fee Waiver Information

Act 678 of 1975. When any person sixty (60) years of age or older is admitted and enrolls as a student in any state-supported institution of higher learning in this state, the board of trustees of the institution or other appropriate institutional officials shall waive all the general student fee charges for each student on a space-available basis in existing classes.  Must be a resident of Arkansas and supply Driver’s License to the UCA Student Accounts Office.  Questions, please email Lindi Doyle at ldoyle@uca.edu.
