Withdrawal and Refund Policy

WITHDRAWAL

Students who officially withdraws from the University may be entitled to a partial refund or adjustment of fees if the withdrawal is completed within the refund period approved for the term or part of term. Undergraduate students should contact the Academic Advising Center (450-5149). Graduate students should contact the office of Graduate Studies at (450-3124). Students must also contact the Housing office (450-3132) to properly check out.  Students receiving Title IV financial aid funds will have those funds adjusted according to the Federal Regulations governing these funds.  Contact the Financial Aid office (450-3140) for information about the Title IV funds regulations.

If a student’s charges for an Academic scholarship are pro-rated, remaining scholarship dollars must be returned to the scholarship fund; not to the student.  The scholarship will be adjusted to eligible charges on the account.

If a student’s charges for a Departmental/Performance, Other, Restricted, or International scholarship are pro-rated, remaining scholarship dollars may be returned to the scholarship fund or to the student depending on the particular scholarship.  The scholarship will be adjusted to eligible charges on the account.

Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal.

SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS (DROPS)

Students who make schedule adjustments (drops) may be entitled to a partial refund or adjustment of fees if the schedule adjustment is completed within the refund period approved for the term or part of term.  Students receiving Title IV financial aid funds will have those funds adjusted according to the Federal Regulations governing these funds.  Contact the Financial Aid office (450-3140) for information about the Title IV funds regulations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Certain miscellaneous fees may not be refundable.  Refunds due for credit hours dropped will not be processed before the last date to add classes.  Refunds of less than $5.00 will not be granted.

HOUSING

Room and board may be adjusted/refunded on a weekly basis according to the provisions of the housing contract.  Please contact the Housing Office (450-3132) to properly check out.

APPEALS

A student may appeal the refund/reduction of charges made by the Student Accounts department. A written decision will be provided to the student. Appeals for charges more than five years old will not be accepted. For more information, see Financial Adjustment Appeal, or contact our office at (501)450-5015.

A student may appeal the refund/reduction of charges related to housing.  For more information, contact the Housing office (450-3132).
