Master of Music in Conducting (Orchestral, Wind, or Choral) [3.6] [3.7] 

 

For Orchestra:

When submitting the UCA Music Department Application Form, candidates must include a link to a streaming video of the applicant conducting. 

     -The camera should be from the perspective of the ensemble, not the audience.

     -Full orchestra preferable; chamber groups or 2 piano ensembles are acceptable.

     -A minimum of 2 excerpts (performance or rehearsal) of contrasting works is preferable.

     -It is preferable to also include some footage of rehearsing, including talking.

Finalists will be contacted for additional screening including an interview, examinations in musicianship and additional evaluation of conducting skills.

For Wind Conducting:

Candidates for a Master of Music in Wind Conducting will conduct the UCA Wind Ensemble on literature suggested by Dr. Michael Hancock and will participate in an interview process.
