Meditative Morning Walk – 9:00 am

Jewel E. Moore Nature Reserve (behind the HPER Center)

Join UCA staff members as they lead you through the Jewel E. Moore Nature Reserve (JMNR) on a meditative walk to start off your day. The JMNR is 18 acres of prairie and woodland located behind the HPER Center. After visiting the JMNR, you’ll be introduced to the labyrinth behind State Hall.

Ready for your first UCA reading assignment? Here we go! It’s the Summer Read! 2024 Program.

Be sure to read through this short selected reading before Welcome Week, and come prepared to discuss it with some of your Living Learning Community peers and a UCA professor during our Welcome Week Reading Groups.

Discussion questions to reflect on as you read the selection:
• What makes someone your “friend” or you a “friend”?
• Do people need friends? What does friendship contribute to our lives?
• What examples of friendship does Dr. Jusdanis use in his Introduction to his book, and can you relate to them?
• What does the author mean when he says “reciprocity” is key to friendship?

Dodgeball Tournament – 2:30-4:30 pm

HPER Center

Come out for the Battle of the Halls Dodgeball Tournament hosted by SOS! Earn points for your hall toward the Battle of the Halls Trophy and bragging rights for the year. Sign up for your hall’s Dodgeball team at the Living Learning Community meetings on Monday at 1:30pm. Watch live on Instagram at @SOS_Orange
