Practicum Student Position Description – Master’s Level

Title
  • Counseling Center Practicum Student
Qualifications
  • A current master’s student in the Counseling Psychology or Mental Health Counseling program.
Reports To
  • Director of Training (Tina Livingston)
Performance Responsibilities

Service Requirements

  • Individual Counseling
  • Crisis Intervention:  Serve as on-call person 2-3 hours per week
  • Personality Assessment:  Administer and interpet personality tests with clients as necessary
Training Requirements
  • Supervision:  Individual Supervision 1 hour/week
  • Staffing/Staff meetings:  Attend/participate in weekly staff meetings or staffings
Administrative Requirements
  • Clinical Records:  Maintain clinical records in accordance with the Center’s procedures within 48 hours of session
  • Evaluation:  Complete/submit evaluation forms as assigned (e.g., supervision)
Additional and Optional Opportunities
  • Training Seminars:  Attend and participate in weekly seminars
  • Research:  Read and research the center’s resources and materials
  • Group Counseling:  Co-Lead a group
  • Outreach Programming:  Conduct programs/workshops
