Fall 2022 Time-Based Media students produced animations inspired by “Nine New York City Miniatures,” music for solo oboe by composer Gary Powell Nash, in collaboration with Lorraine Duso Kitts, professor of Music at UCA. Professor Duso Kitts performed each piece along with the student animations during the UCA Faculty Chamber Series: Inspiring Collaborations, on March 14th, 2023 in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. The student animators were: Even Gilliard – “Spreading the News;” Riley Harrelson – “Nocturnal Vision;” Joanna Arechiga – “Mass Transit;” Crystal Araujo – “Downtown Music;” Josh Smith – “Hustle & Bustle;” Jasmine Miller – “A Million Numbered Streets;” Nichole Marche – “Uptown Music.”
