The new year and the new spring semester for 2023 brought about changes that would forever impact the Department of Art & Design! We officially moved into the new Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts at the start of classes for the spring semester on January 12, 2023!
Getting acclimated to the new spaces for all of the studios, classrooms, and student studios seemed overwhelming as we unloaded several hundreds of the black and yellow totes to establish and set up not only our studios and classrooms but our new offices as well.
We faced the challenges of a new building with all of the issues that come along with occupying a new space, but we have met each challenge and conquered it! All of the students, faculty, and staff that I have encountered have nothing but praise for the new space. The students are enjoying the student lounge, the Collaborative Reading/Study Room, as well as the Keystone Steps to congregate, rest, or just grab a bite to eat.
The new facilities give the Department of Art & Design space to grow as well as continue to nurture our students in the state-of-the-art facilities! I am excited about the future of our department and its well-being. So stay tuned and watch us grow! This truly is a transformational, and pivotal point for the Department of Art & Design.
