Graduate Assistant Job Description – Doctoral level


TITLE
  • Counseling Center Graduate Assistant (20 hours per week)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A current doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program
  • Completion of/concurrent enrollment in Practicum III
REPORTS TO
  • Director of Training (Tina Livingston)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Requirements:

  1. Individual Counseling:  Case load of 8-10 individual and/or couples per week; 1 intake per week
  2. Group Counseling:   Co-lead one group per semester
  3. Crisis Intervention:   Serve as on-call person 2-3 hours per week
  4. Outreach Programming: Conduct programs/workshops as assigned by Outreach Coordinator (Reesa Ramsahai)
  5. Personality Assessment: Administer and interpret personality tests with clients as necessary

Training Requirements:

  1. Supervision: Individual Supervision 1 hour/week
  2. Training Seminars: Regularly attend and participate in weekly training seminars
  3. Staffings/Staff Meetings:  Attend/participate in a weekly staff meeting or staffing meeting

Administrative Requirements:

  • Clinical Records: Maintain clinical records in accordance with the Center’s procedures
  • Staff Meetings: Regularly attend/participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Evaluation: Complete/submit evaluation forms as assigned
  • Paperwork: Complete all paperwork including weekly reports

Additional and Optional Opportunities:

  1. Training: Attend conferences/workshops outside of the center and/or UCA
  2. Research: Read and research the center’s resources and materials
