Camila Osses is a Chilean pianist born in Talca. Osses holds a doctorate degree in musical arts and a master’s degree in collaborative piano from the University of Oregon under the guidance of pianists Alexandre Dossin and David Riley. She obtained her master’s degree in performance with the highest distinction at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Russia, under the guidance of professors such as Oleg Malov, Sergei Uribaev, and Irina Vasileva. Camila has performed as a soloist in Russia, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica, and the United States.

 

As a chamber musician, Camila has collaborated with numerous ensembles in Chile and abroad, as well as coaching vocal and instrumental students at Universidad de Talca, in Chile. She has held an active career as a pedagogue as well, teaching students at different levels for over 15 years. She also has given piano masterclasses and workshops in Mexico, Chile, and the United States. In 2022 she was awarded with the Edmund Cykler Song Scholar at the University of Oregon, to research, record, and produce a scholar edition of art songs by Chilean twentieth-century composer Carmela Mackenna, premiering four of her songs in 2022.

 

Osses has engaged in numerous conferences in the United States as well as internationally, participating in the Pianists of Costa Rica annual conference, Frances Clarke Center annual conference (NCKP), CMS regional conference, NTIPS North Texas International Symposium, among others. Her research topic focuses on Latin American music, specially from Chilean and women composers.

 

At present, Osses is a faculty member at the University of Central Arkansas’ Music Department in Conway, where she participates as Collaborative Artist at UCA Opera and performs recitals with faculty and students.

 

Osses regularly performs in Chile and the United States. She is also an executive member of the International Society for Chilean Music, SIMUC, and founder and member of Crisol Duo, a professional ensemble specialized in art song repertoire, along with Chilean tenor Daniel Brant.
