University Overview
Spanish Institute for Global Learning (SIGE) is located in the heart of Seville, Spain. Seville is a renowned city in Southern Spain for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere. In addition to being a popular film destination—it is often associated with the Star Wars prequels—the city is features many iconic landmarks such as the Alcazar of Seville, an exquisite royal palace with stunning Moorish architecture, and the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world. The Giralda Tower offers panoramic views, and the Plaza de España captivates visitors with its semicircular design and canal, representing Spain’s provinces. Seville is considered the birthplace of Flamenco, a passionate art form expressed through music and dance, and visitors can immerse themselves in the city’s lively tapas culture. These elements collectively make Seville a captivating destination with a unique blend of history, art, and Spanish traditions.
The Spanish Institute for Global Learning is located approximately 1 mile away from the Plaza de España. This allows students to live in a central location with easy access to explore the city, take classes, and enhance their Spanish language skills. In addition to taking classes, students also have the option to intern at a wide selection of companies or to volunteer in one of many non-profit organizations. Engaging in international internships is an excellent way for students to enhance their resume and the program serves as a key appeal for the school. SIGE allows students to live with a host family in Seville with full room and board; three meals a day are included throughout the stay. Living with a family allows our students to fully discover the Spanish culture, life, and people. Courses are taught in Spanish and English.
