The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its second meeting on Thursday, October 9th. The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. Mr. Tyler Gilliom, a recent UCA graduate who majored in MIS with an emphasis in Business Analysis, will be the featured speaker. He is a Project Support Analyst for a Health Information System company (Cognosante) based out of McLean, Virginia and is currently working on a Medicaid MIS project in Little Rock. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

The University of Central Arkansas is hosting the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics & Business (ACTEB) conference on September 26th in the McCastlain Hall Ballroom and the College of Business. Economics and business faculty from Arkansas share their research and teaching methods. The conference includes paper sessions, panel discussions, and teaching workshops. Dr. Thomas Snyder is the faculty contact for this event.
The Business & Information Technology (BIT) Club is having its Fall Welcome Meeting and Kick-Off on Thursday, September 18th. The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. Hannah Osborne, Information Technology Manager at HP, will be the featured speaker. Joining her from Hewlett-Packard Company will be Joyti Lal, who was President of the BIT Club last year. Joyti is a recent graduate of our College of Business and we are delighted to welcome her back to campus. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

Sam Harper, Hewlett Packard, a local and international recruiter. He will talk about job opportunities (part-time, full-time and internships). Just a note–last spring when he spoke in the COB, two students stayed afterwards to talk to him and later were both offered internships. Thursday, April 17, x-period in COB Auditorium.

The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. We will have a Mystery Guest Speaker deliver a few remarks and conduct Officer Elections for next year. In addition, we will discuss our upcoming field trip to the Dillard’s Data Center and Headquarters in Little Rock on Tuesday, April 15th. Refreshments will be served (PIZZA!) and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

The event, which will be held in the College of Business Auditorium (Rooms 107/208) during X-period (1:40 – 2:30 p.m.), is open to all majors on campus. Phi Beta Lambda is co-hosting the event. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Stephen Svetz from the Attorney General’s Office as our featured speaker. Mr. Svetz will be speaking on Identity Theft and will offer valuable insights from his experience working for the state of Arkansas. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.
