If you are looking for a community to worship with, UCA is home to over 20 faith-based and/or spiritual student organizations hosting numerous services or meetings weekly. You can reach out to them through CubConnect and many will be present at Conway Daze on Wednesday of Welcome Week.

Meditative Morning Walk – 9:00-10:15 pm

Jewel Moore Nature Reserve (behind the HPER Center)

Join UCA staff members as they lead you through the Jewel Moore Nature Reserve (JMNR) on a meditative walk to start off your first full day on campus. The JMNR is 18 acres of prairie and woodland located behind the HPER Center. After visiting the JMNR, you’ll be introduced to the labyrinth behind State Hall.

BEAR Life Kickoff Brunch – 11:30am-12:30pm

Come get your BEARings Straight at our official BEAR Life Kickoff Brunch. Students enrolled in the Fall 2023 co-hort for BEAR Life will be able to pick up all of their BEAR Life materials, meet the staff, and here about all the exciting plans for the year. Make sure you’re there when the Class of 2027 will gather for the official opening of the academic year. You will hear from the President, Provost, Vice President for Student Affairs, and your SGA President. You’ll receive a Class of 2027 shirt to wear in the class picture and you won’t want to miss the Class of 2027 video and fireworks show to close your first full day on campus! Welcome to Bear Country!

Sensory Warning – the fireworks show taking place after Convocation will be a high sensory event. Earplugs will be available.

Start Organized

As you pack and load up to come, organize your belongings to make it easier to find what you need when you arrive.  Consider packing an “Open me first!” box with your essentials including toiletries, change of clothes, and night clothes.

 

Utilize a check list

To be prepared as possible, many stores will provide you with an excellent check list of what to pack.  We also have one listed here at this link!

 

Avoid the Rush

Come during your assigned time and date to move-in for the best possible experience.

Utilize Your Resources

On move-in day, many offices on campus will be open during the day to assist you with your questions and needs.  Also, on move-in day various student groups from around campus come out to help you unload your car!  Don’t miss out on these opportunities for the UCA Community to help you out!

Come Prepared

When you come to check in, you will need some important pieces of information.  You will need your BearCard, emergency contact information, and many of our UCA residential communities will offer opportunities to purchase a T-shirt or sign up to participate in hall activities!!
