SafeZone Mobile Safety App

Effective July 2026, SafeZone is the official safety app of the University of Central Arkansas. It is the only app that integrates with the University of Central Arkansas’s safety and security systems. The UCA Police Department has worked to identify a unique app that provides students, faculty, and staff with added safety on the University of Central Arkansas campus. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources.

SafeZone and the UCAALERT System

Important Fact – UCA students, faculty, and staff must now download the SafeZone app to receive a push notification of an Alert on the UCA Campus.

UCA students, faculty, and staff who provide a phone number in the Mailing Address Telephone Number section in your Banner profile will automatically receive the UCAAlert message via text message. All students, faculty, and staff will continue to receive UCAAlert messages to their UCA email addresses.

SafeZone is a free safety, wellness, and emergency communications app designed to help keep you informed, connected, and supported while on campus and beyond. As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, UCA has implemented SafeZone as our new campus safety platform.

What is SafeZone?

SafeZone is a mobile app that provides direct access to campus safety resources and allows the university to communicate important information quickly and effectively.

The app can help you:

  • Receive important emergency and safety notifications from UCA
  • Access campus safety and wellness resources
  • Quickly request assistance when you need help
  • Share your location with UCA Police during an emergency to help responders find you faster
  • Stay connected to campus support services
  • Receive relevant communications based on your role, location, or affiliation with the university

Why Should I Download SafeZone?

Emergencies are unpredictable, and timely information can make a critical difference. SafeZone gives you a direct connection to the university’s safety and support resources and helps us communicate with you more effectively during emergencies, severe weather events, operational disruptions, and other situations that may affect campus.

Beyond emergency situations, SafeZone supports UCA’s broader commitment to student success, wellbeing, and community engagement by providing access to resources and services designed to support you throughout your university experience.

How Do I Get Started?

  1. Download the SafeZone app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and sign in using your UCA credentials.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
  4. Allow notifications and location permissions when prompted. These permissions help ensure you receive important alerts and allow responders to locate you more quickly if you request assistance.

What Should I Expect?

Once you have installed SafeZone, you may receive occasional communications from the university, including:

  • Emergency notifications
  • Weather-related alerts
  • Safety information
  • Operational updates
  • Wellness and support resources
  • Other communications relevant to your role or campus activities
