Planetarium Field Trips

Field trips are available most Thursday mornings during the Fall 2023 semester by appointment.  The Maximum number of attendees including students, teachers, aides, and chaperones cannot exceed 94. 

Scheduling your visit

Please check the Griffin Planetarium availability by looking at our calendar. Then complete the online form request with your choice of date and time. We will reach out to confirm your selection shortly.

The day of your visit

1. Plan to be unloaded and ready to enter the building at least 15 minutes before your scheduled show time. Any later arrival may reduce the time available for your show.
2. Buses will drop students off at the marked passenger drop-off zone at the east end of the CCCS Building on Western Avenue. Buses may then park in the parking lot between College Avenue and the Bear Stadium Baseball Field.
3. Directions to the drop off zone coming from I-40:
   Take Exit 129
   Head west on E. Dave Ward Dr.
   Turn right onto Farris Rd.
   Head north on Farris Rd.
   At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on Farris Rd.
   Turn right onto College Ave.
   Head east on College Ave.
   Turn right  onto Western Ave.
   The Drop-Off Zone is on the right at the end of Western Ave (before reaching Bruce St.).
4. Any private vehicles will need to stop by the UCA Police Department to get temporary parking tags. The UCAPD is located in the center of campus make sure to allow time to get your parking tags before the show starts. The best parking for private vehicles will be in the lot behind the baseball field just off of College Ave.

Admission currently is free.  Donation to the Griffin Planetarium through the Secure Giving link is encouraged.
