Attend Convocation & the Class Picture

  • Convocation and the Class Picture on the stripes will take place on Sunday, August 17 during Welcome Week.
  • To earn credit: Scan your BearCard with the SOSers as you enter Convocation.

Attend one home UCA Bears or Sugar Bears game

  • UCA Athletics is home to seventeen different sports! You can find the schedule for each sport by visiting ucasports.com, hovering over “Sports”, then selecting the schedule. You can also find home games listed on CubConnect.
  • To earn credit: Take a selfie of you enjoying your time cheering on the Bears or Sugar Bears! Complete the Self-Report form and share with us when you attended and upload your picture.

Get Involved in the Community

Conway is nicknamed the “City of Colleges” for the three universities who call it home. Learn more about Conway and Faulkner County through one of these options.

  • 1. The Big Event is a student-led organization that provides volunteer services annually to complete projects submitted by Conway community members. These projects can range from yard work to helping organize a food pantry to cleaning up a local playground. The Big Event is held in March each spring semester. Because The Big Event is after the New Bear Bucket List close date of March 1, to earn credit you will need to sign up and commit to participating to receive credit. (2026 date and registration link coming soon!)
  • 2. Voting is the most important way to exercise civic engagement. Bears at the Ballot is student group is a UCA campus chapter of Vote Everywhere, a national program administered through the Andrew Goodman Foundation. Vote Everywhere focuses on getting college students more closely involved with our political process through voter registration and civic engagement. To earn credit, join the Bears at the Ballot student group in CubConnect.
  • 3. GivePulse is a hub to find ways to volunteer in the community and track your volunteer hours. To earn credit, find a service event (also called an “impact”) held on GivePulse, sign up to volunteer, and make sure your impact is recorded in GivePulse. Hint: if you record service hours for a student organization you are a member of or through UCA Commitment, what you record in GivePulse will also count towards your Bucket List!
  • 4. MobilePack is a meal packing event coordinated by the Department of First Year Experience and Living Learning Communities through Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). When you visit Tacos 4 Life, a nationwide restaurant founded in Conway, your purchase also provides a meal for a child in need. This event brings those dollars into the tangible action of packing meals which will be distributed by FMSC after the packing event. MobilePack will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025. A variety of time shifts are available; to earn credit, sign up for a shift and make sure to check in when you attend the event!
  • To earn credit: Your participation will be logged by completing the associated step. We will work directly with the groups to track your progress. Choosing only 1 of these options will earn you credit for this item!

Take a picture with a Bear statue on campus

  • There are Bears around every corner if you look! This article reviews the history of several Bear statues. Locations of Bear statues around campus:
    • The Bear Chair – Ronnie Williams Student Center, between The UCA Bookstore and BearCard office
    • Gene Hatfield Bear – visitor entrance of Estes Stadium (football field), next to Bear Hall
    • Farris Center Bear – lobby of the Farris Center (basketball arena)
    • Bronze Bear – entrance of Bear Hall
    • Otis – scaling the side of Donaghey Hall
    • Valor II – stands outside of Wingo Hall
  • To earn credit: Take a picture with you (and some friends if you want!) with one of the Bears on campus. Upload those pictures to the Self-Report form. We can’t wait to see them!!

Vote in Student Government Association (SGA) elections in the fall

  • Similar to high school, the Student Government Association (SGA) advocates for all students. Each fall, first year students vote on their class leadership to represent them on SGA.
  • Voting will be held on CubConnect starting at 12:00am on September 8th, 2025 and end at 11:00am on September 11th, 2025.
  • To earn credit: log into CubConnect and vote! Your participation will be recorded but not tied to your vote in any manner.
