UCA College of Business (COB) Student Ambassadors are leaders who engage, connect, and serve.

Ambassadors serving at Bear Facts Day 2023

COB Student Ambassadors are a critical part of the COB culture because they represent our diverse UCA student body. The program is inclusive to all business majors regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and religious/spiritual affiliation.

Each year, we seek outstanding students and leaders in each business degree program to serve as COB Ambassadors. Only 50 students are accepted to this program each year. Many types of students make up our group:

  • are undergraduate or graduate
  • attend in person or fully online
  • want to develop leadership skills or get more involved
  • transferred from another institution
  • lead as an officer in another club
  • work a lot or are completing an internship

We select students with various backgrounds and experiences because each student brings a unique perspective to the College of Business.

What COB Student Ambassadors do:
  • provide feedback about their experiences to COB’s Dean and faculty
  • help share COB programs and news with friends, family, peers, and the general public
  • represent the College at recruiting and special events throughout the year
  • lead other students and help to build a strong COB
What COB Student Ambassadors get:
  • are the “first to know” about all the best COB opportunities and resources
  • receive one free photo session for professional headshots and COB swag; seniors offered graduation photos
  • experience unique opportunities for professional development, networking, and mentorship with COB faculty and staff, the COB Advisory Board, community business partners, industry experts, and potential employers
  • are often recognized for their work as COB Student Ambassadors when they apply for internships, jobs, or scholarships
To be considered, applicants must:
  • be currently enrolled as an undergraduate business major or MBA, MAcc, or MS-DA student – in person AND online students welcome
  • have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours (or one semester)
  • have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • have a faculty reference (no letter required – just a name of someone who will vouch for you)
  • exhibit responsibility, dependability, willingness to volunteer, and a commitment to the University of Central Arkansas, the College of Business, and the business profession

As COB Student Ambassadors, applicants should expect to:
  • commit to representing UCA and the College of Business in a positive way in person and on social media
  • exhibit responsibility, dependability, willingness to volunteer, and a commitment to the University of Central Arkansas, the College of Business, and the business profession
  • attend a minimum of 4 COB RSO/club meetings per year (2 fall & 2 spring)
  • attend a minimum of 4 COB Student Ambassador meetings per year (2 fall & 2 spring)
  • assist with a minimum of 4 preview days (2 fall & 2 spring)
(examples: Bear Facts Day, Bear Necessities Day, Admitted Student Open House)
  • assist with and/or attend a minimum of 2 professional development opportunities per year (1 per semester)
(examples: Davis or Allison Lecture Series events, Career Fairs, leadership conferences, field trips)
  • assist the Dean’s Office with special projects as needed

*We understand that internships and leadership in other activities may mean that you cannot attend some meetings or fulfill some requirements. Students with special circumstances may work out other ways to serve as ambassadors with the COB Communications & Projects Coordinator, Lainey Morrow.
