Bio:

Susan Shaddox has worked as an interior design consultant with Main Street Arkansas since 2006. Through her job, she consults with over 40 Main Street AR communities to assist property owners and business owners in renovating historic buildings in Main Street communities, Historic Districts, and buildings on the Arkansas and National Register of Historic Places.

Prior to her work for the AR Historic Preservation Program, Susan worked as an assistant to a Projects Manager for Felcor Lodging Trust, Irving, Texas.

Susan has worked in many states across the US, privately consulting with their Main Street programs and working in historic downtown retail communities.  She has been a speaker at the National Main Street and Destination Downtown Conferences.  Susan conducts several versions of Window Display and Visual Merchandising workshops that she has developed.

Aside from work, Susan enjoys time with her family including her husband Ken, 2 sons, 2 daughters in law, 2 grandchildren, 8 rescue dogs, and her flock of 7 Silkie chickens. Susan has also concurrently served as Vice President for two Central AR dog rescue groups for many years and is a staunch advocate for Spay/Neuter programs for Arkansas pets.

 

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Central Arkansas.
