UCA Ceramics Summer Camp

UCA Department of Art and Design

Ceramics Camp

Welcome to the 2024 inaugural UCA CLAY CAMP! The Department of Art and Design is excited to offer this art camp in our beautiful Windgate Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. This will be a two week studio art course offered June 10th – 21st, Monday – Friday from 1-3pm. The class is open to students who will be in 10th, 11th and 12th grade during the 2024/25 academic year. Students will have the opportunity to work directly with UCA Ceramics faculty member Professor Liz Smith and two advanced ceramics student teachers. The class will focus on hand building sculptural and utilitarian objects with an emphasis on surface treatments. It is our hope in the future to expand the summer art camp offerings.

About the Camp:

Clay is an amazing material that can both be formed with relative ease into three dimensional objects but also readily accepts two-dimensional surface imagery, so whether you are most interested in developing three-dimensional objects or curious about putting your 2-D imagery onto a 3-D form this is the class for you!

Students will have access to our excellent facility and will work directly with UCA Ceramics faculty member Professor Liz Smith plus two advanced ceramics student teachers.
