The tables in this page list existing Online-Approved (DE) and Hybrid-Approved (HY) courses; some courses that are sun-setting within, say, the next year will not appear on this list. Many of these courses may also be available by traditional on-campus delivery; for all course offerings in a given term, see the Class Schedule.
Timely note: The subject prefix WRID will replace the WRTG prefix in all but two instances (the exceptions are WRTG 1310 and WRTG 1320), effective with the Fall 2023 semester. That imminent change was first reflected in the DE and HY lists beginning with the update of 2023-04-25 and will remain part of this list going forward.
Three columns (new in Spring 2023) enhance the usefulness of the Online-Approved Courses table. The UCA CORE column identifies by attribute the UCA Core courses that are approved for online delivery and the requirement(s) they fulfill. Click the UCA Core Attribute Legend for the meaning of the UCA Core attributes. The OFFERED ONLINE column indicates how often or on what schedule the courses in the list are offered online; click the Schedule Annotations Legend for the meaning of the abbreviations (or blanks) in this field. The NOTES field adds additional information provided by a course’s home department.
UCA Core Attribute Legend
The following single-letter designators are used with both lower-division (LD) and upper-division (UD) UCA Core courses: I = Critical Inquiry, C = Communication, D = Diversity, R = Responsible Living. The designation Z identifies a Capstone course and is used only at the upper-division level.

1H01 = LD, Humanities
1S01 = LD, Social Science
Schedule Abbreviations/Conventions
In the OFFERED ONLINE field, term(s) are listed first followed by the “pipe” symbol (|) and year information if needed. For example, the entry “FA, SU|Odd” means that a course is offered during Fall and Summer terms in odd-numbered years. See abbreviations and their meanings below.
If a department has indicated that a course is only offered “as needed” (i.e., on no set schedule rotation), the schedule field is left blank. To conserve space in the displayed table, the following abbreviations and conventions are followed:
Term Identifiers
Note that parts of term (e.g., “First Half” or “Summer I”) are not indicated here. Check the online schedule of classes for any relevant part-of-term information.
SP = Spring
SU = Summer
Year Identifiers
When no year annotation is provided, the department has indicated that the course is offered every year in the terms indicated.
Even = Even years (e.g., 2022, 2024)
E2Y = Every two years
A/N (paired with a term) = As needed (e.g., SU|A/N): Check with the home department of the course.
