Backyard BBQ at the Senior Center

Students in NUTR 4321, Nutrition Services Administration, created, planned, and conducted a Backyard BBQ themed meal at the Conway Senior Wellness and Activity Center. We fed almost 200 people shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, baked beans, candied carrots, mixed green salad,  apple pie with ice cream, tea and lemonade. The students ran every aspect of the meal and our guests loved it! We also would like to say THANK YOU very much to the Arkansas Geriatric Education Collaborative, which is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program, for helping us produce such a wonderful meal and serve seniors in our community.

We Love Our Friends at Cooperative Extension!

Over Spring Break our great friends at Cooperative Extension came over to train. This is what they said, “Food Preservation Training 2017! What an awesome time with lots of great people! Never dreamed I would have such a rewarding FUN career! Thanks UCA for letting us use your Foods Lab, it was the perfect place to hold this training! The campus is breathtaking!”   We think so too.
