Program Description
At the intersection of art history, contemporary drawing practice, linguistics, and food, is an opportunity for a symbiotic learning environment for students interested in learning about Italian culture.
While based in Florence, Italy, students will explore the masterpieces of the Renaissance while considering contextual significance in contrast to contemporary life and culture. Critical to appreciating this contrast is the experiential learning process of drawing, and the immersion into the culture through food and language.
Each course will have its unique learning objectives and assessments; however, all students will grow in cultural, historical, drawing, and linguistic competency, and the ability to look at the world from a new perspective.
Health and Safety
Students registering for programs agree to the following: I understand that UCA does not control requirements of vendors, universities, and other stakeholders for study abroad programing. Should a vendor or organization require masks, vaccinations, quarantine, or other measures regarding COVID 19, I agree to follow these requirements. While UCA and its partners will work to update students, it is ultimately the student’s responsibility to take measures to protect themselves from the spread of disease.
Students must attend one health and safety meeting in the spring semester.
Participants will be enrolled in comprehensive international insurance for the duration of programming.
