Move-In Day Registration for Community Partners

The Department of First Year Experience is seeking local businesses, churches, and community groups to assist moving in freshmen students’ belongings into their residence halls on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Move-in Day Volunteer Guidelines

Move-In Day is a coordinated effort by UCA and the Conway community to welcome incoming students and their families. We appreciate your support!

All Move-In Day volunteers should wear a shirt that collectively identifies your organization. Each volunteer must also wear a nametag their entire shift with their name and group listed. (A simple sticky name tag works great!)

Upon arrival, a representative of your organization should “check-in” with the Student Orientation Staff (SOS) team leader assigned to the hall. They will be wearing an orange polo.

Volunteers should stay at the assigned hall until the shift ends or unless specifically instructed by a Student Orientation Staff (SOS) member to move to a different hall. Volunteers should plan to stay the entire time frame. We do our best to distribute volunteers across the various halls based on the number of freshmen anticipated to move in and the number of volunteers expected.

Volunteers should be prepared for intense physical labor (carrying items up and down stairs). Please dress appropriately and come ready to work. Water will be provided.

Volunteers not following the above guidelines and/or poorly representing UCA will be asked to leave and the organization they represent will not be allowed to participate in next year’s Move-In Day.

All volunteer groups’ residence hall assignments will be emailed on Friday, August 8, 2025.
