Dr. Rapp is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated with honors from Southeast Missouri State University. He received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Indiana University.
He began teaching at UCA in 1968, and retired from UCA as a tenured professor of chemistry in 1999. He served as vice president and president of the Arkansas Academy of Science, and also was president of the Arkansas Science Fair Association. In addition, he served as director of the State Science Fair for many years.
Dr. Rapp is a member of the American Association of University Professors, American Chemical Society, Arkansas and National Science Teachers Associations and Sigma Xi. He was the 1990 winner of UCA’s Teaching Excellence Award.
