The Woodson Levee District collection consists of records concerning the building and financing of a levee near the Arkansas River south of Little Rock. These records include correspondence, and information on taxes, bonds, and payroll.
The Woodson Levee District was formed under provision of Act 96 of 1909. It was established to build levees to keep waters of the Arkansas River off certain lands in Saline County. In 1915 these lands were annexed to Pulaski County by another act of the General Assembly.
