This collection consists of materials relating to the Arkansas Power and Light Company. The materials consist of company annual reports which span the years 1939-1969. In addition to covering the income and expenses of the company, the reports also describe AP & L’s industrial development efforts, especially their rural electrification projects throughout Arkansas.
The Arkansas Power and Light Company was created by Harvey Couch in 1914. Since then, it has become one of the biggest industries within the state providing electricity to most of the homes and businesses in Arkansas.
