Biographical Note:

This collection contains the loose probate papers filed in Faulkner County, Arkansas from the creation of the county in 1873 until 1917. These papers pertain to the estates of deceased persons, and are filed as a part of the deliberations of the County Probate Court, which was presided over by the County Judge.

Scope and Contents Note:

Among the papers are such items as property inventories, papers pertaining to the appointment of guardians, reports on the financial status of estates, etc. Administrator’s periodic reports, as required by law are commonly found. Heirs of the deceased are frequently mentioned by name.

Arrangement:

These papers are arranged alphabetically by the surname of the deceased.
