M09-04 – ANNE JANSEN COLLECTION

Anne Jansen is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications from the University of Tulsa.  In 1982 she began her career at KTHV Channel – 11 as a general assignment reporter.  She was later promoted to news anchor and held that position for more than twenty years before retiring in February 2008.

She is heavily involved in community affairs and volunteers her time and talent to various organizations including Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Arkansas chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America.  She was elected to serve as president of the Boy Scouts Quapaw Area Council for the 2009-2010 term.

Anne has received many awards including the Silver Beaver Award for Community Service from the Boy Scouts Council, the Saint George Award from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, the Arkansas Spirit Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners, and she was listed as one of the top 100 Women in Arkansas by the Arkansas Business Publishing Group.

Her hobbies include travel, art, music, photography, reading and cooking.  She enjoys working out at the gym, Pilates, and snow skiing.  Anne is also an avid sports fan who serves on the board of the Little Rock touchdown Club.  She lives in Little Rock with her husband, Dr. Ralph Broadwater, and their sons, John and Michael.
