M01-01 – NEAL KING / WORLD WAR II LETTERS COLLECTION

Neal King is a 1932 graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas).  He is also a World War II veteran and served in the United State Navy.  He entered the Navy on March 1, 1942, and was honorably discharged on October 13, 1954.  From March 16, 1946 until October 13, 1954, he served in the Navy Reserve.  His active duty status is from March 1, 1942 to March 15, 1946.

Mr. King is the brother of Evalyn King, who has a sizeable collection also in the UCA Archives.  His sister, Evalyn King, donated Mr. Kings’s material to the archives. Little is known of Mr. King’s life.  When his sister donated this material to UCA she was elderly and suffered from a failing memory and could not supply much information on his background.  She has since died and he preceded her in death.  This short biography will be updated when more information is found.
