Course Approval Process for Semester Exchange Students

Course Approval Process

Any student, who is applying to study abroad with a partner university, must submit a Pre-approval Course Form signed by the appropriate Chair of the Department(s). It is the student’s responsibility to check with the appropriate department(s), advisor and Degree Works to plan the coursework abroad.

If the student is approved to study abroad with a partner school, that student is responsible for contacting any department(s) and the Office of Study Abroad if a schedule change occurs to complete the pre-approval process.

Upon return, the exchange student must schedule meetings to obtain post approval signatures. Using the partner school transcript and pre-approval form, the student will meet with the chair for final approval. Though credits transfer as “CR” and do not affect a student’s GPA, the student should keep in mind that graduate schools, potential employees, etc. may ask to see the transcript.
